Safety Inop on 1969

Got to unwrap my Romanian M69 for Christmas today. I am very happy with it. Stock is very nice. And other than some surface rust that I have since cleaned off, overall it's in very good condition.
There is one problem. The safety does not work. It seems to work to a point. But if you pull the trigger with a little more force than normal trigger pull, it will fire. The only problem I see is with the actural trigger. It seems to have a bushing in the trigger where it pivits. The bushing sticks out of both sides of the trigger about 1-2mm. The bushing is brittle, and has chipped way. One side has about 25% remaining, the other side about 50%. Maybe that is allowing enough jiggle room to make a difference, I don't know.
The only replacement part I have found is a whole trigger assembly for about 35 dollars.
I may go shoot this tomorrow anyway. But would like some thoughts if you have any.
Also, I am guessing that regular long rifle .22 ammo is ok.
Merry Christmas

Regular .22lr will be fine. As for the safety, don't carry it around loaded, cocked and locked and it will be fine.

Maybe this question has stumped the best here. Only one response.
Anyway, I took it to the range today. Shot fine. Had a blast. I only have one magazine. And it had a lot of trouble chambering the last round almost everytime. My son was with me. He thinks the spring in the magazine may be a little weak. When i get some cash, I will try to purchase another magazine. Even if it is a copy, and not an OEM model.
Heres still hoping I can get the safety question answered.
I joined the Rimfire message forum. I have had no responses to that post either. :attn:

I am unfamiliar with the model so I can't help you with the safety, however I never use a safety on any rifle I own, they are only loaded when I am at my bench , and the bolt closed on a live round only when I am pointing the rifle at the target about to shoot.
