Long losing streak ended, Christmas present

Post by desdem12 »

Welp i could not pry a mosin from any of you crooks. Not even for well over $300 dollar bids. I had to go outside the mosins and got of all things a shorty.
Know nothing of these save they look great. This one was the nicest of the batch lately but likely paid too much. Any comments welcome and i did pay a tad more then 123.45 for it.

Looks like a nice Type 38 carbine. You will have trouble finding ammo for it. I managed to find two boxes online at almost 30 bucks per box; 6.5x50 is rare.

I get a box of cigars for Christmas, and some booze, cookies, brownies, pie, cake, and chocolates. I can't drink the booze, or eat any of the sweets, so I just chain smoke the cigars.
Nice deal on that carbine :)

The Old Man started in on the chocolates this afternoon, the man is a closet chocoholic, the booze is now a Christmas tree decoration. The blue color of the Bombay Sapphire Gin reflects the light nicely :) the guy paid at least $30 for this so I have to get some use out of it .

I quit drinking long ago. I found it to be useless to rent it and i could use the money on guns instead. I don't have to worry about driving or drunken stupers.
The Jap is the first japanese i will have. I would also like a Type 38 long rifle to go with it. If ammo is non existing then that is ok. If i get to shoot it then that would be nice. If not i will be fine there also. If anybody wants to give to the needy i will accept brass for it.  Not even sure if there is dies for it but i am sure i can figure out something. I did do a search for ammo before buying and saw it was not around so not the motivating factor. Just a hole in the collection that needed attention and you big pocket guys would not let a mosin out.

Nice carbine, is it possible to find dies to reload the ammo you do find. From the sounds of what a box cost it may be the cheaper way to go...
