Hello all, first time on this forum, been reading alot of the posts, all are very interesting and am learning alot. I just recently purchased a 1943 91/30 sniper, or at least I think it is. Just looking for some info how I can tell what the markings mean and if indeed this was a good buy. Have some pics I would like to post, for you to look at and mabe get some information on what they stand for. Just not sure how to post the pics .

Welcome to the forum, it's easy to link to the forum reply box from photobucket, or you will have to resize the pics to 40x480 to post them directly on the forum from your computer.

There is a serial number in the left side of the receiver , and then another one above that, that number is also on the scope just below the marking, on the mount is a three digit number which is also on the bolt and the butt plate. What is this representing?

There are some knowledgeable people here who know the PU snipers better that I, once they see the pics they will be able to give you a better idea.

Take pictures of the entire gun. Then move to any other areas that you want to show. Are you using a cell phone? Can you improve the lighting? Good focus in good light, and did I understand this is a sniper? Get pictures of area square inch of everything. You cannot take too many pictures.

It should be on the receiver somewhere. It will tell what company it came from.

You have some really nice barrel shots, but the receiver is the part with the bolt in it.

The import mark should be on the side (outside) or top of the receiver.
