.22 advice
.22 advice
Ok...I can afford 1 more rifle this year...I want a .22 to hunt squirrel with...Liberty Tree has the 1969 m69 and Centerfire has the WZ-48...cannot afford both, never bought a firearm unseen, never dealt with either of these vendors...which would you suggest, and since my eyes are failing miserably I will need to put a peep sight on either of them and hopefully not permanently alter, but, will if necessary since a scope is not of my liking...I have even considered going modern with a Marlin xt-22, which would be cheaper but, I just bought a Glenfield 75c and like it...Just give me some feedback on both the rifles and vendors...I have hit a wall here so to speak and need some input on the best direction to go...

Re: .22 advice
The easiest in my opinion to put an aftermarket optical on would be the Romanian trainer, it has grooves, but, they are not the normal 3/8" standard dovetail, I believe it is a 11mm dovetail. That part, you will have to find a set that works, years ago they were made by Kwik-Site and pretty common. I'm sure there must be another brand that would fit and hold tight. As for vendors, Liberty Tree is the only one I've dealt with, and they are great.
Here is basically what it would look like, and these are the Kwik-Site mounts.

I have the Pole and really like it. Liberty Tree has been great to me. I don't scope a lot of stuff so I will leave that to the others. But if you do the Pole doesn't have a bent bolt.

I love the Romanian m1969. I like it just fine with the factory fold down rear sight.

If a peep sight must be added then go with the commercial sporter, easier, and no milsurps are drilled and tapped.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

No worries JYD, i would not permanently ever deface a piece of history....If unable to find one that will snap in place at the rear sight mount and could be returned to original easily, I will learn to use the stock sights..and if need be slap a scope
UGHHH on it..and yes a Romanian M69 is being ordered tomorrow
No more rifles this year!!!
Thank goodness there are only 7 weeks or so left

The most famous words ever uttered by a milsurp collectorKoada wrote: No more rifles this year!!!
The factory sights are not bad, my blond Romanian M69 has no scope and I shoot it more than the one with the scope. The red stocked M69 had the scope mounted when I got it, if I take it off I'd probably loose something.
