Mossberg 46 M-B

Post by Buckhead »

:help:

I was given a Mossberg 46 M-B this weekend that needs some parts
The receiver has 7 drilled and tapped holes on the left side, the back site is missing
as is the front blade sits. There is a set screw that holds the front end of the feed
tube that is missing also. It won't feed a round I think there is some kind of a spring
that is also missing. I don't know if it is worth fixing and have no clue as to how old it
or what it is worth. I figure I got it for nothing and I want a project so this mite be
worth the effort. I think guns are always worth saving What do you all think.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Cool, pics?
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

There is an outfit called Havlin Sales. They have all manner of Mossberg parts.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Thanks "Ironnewt" Called them this morning and they had the front sight and a scope mount.
They said the rear sight was very hard to find so I went for the scope mount and front sight.
I will keep looking for a rear sight. They also had the elevator spring. I think the boy will like it
it with a scope, but I also would like him to be able to shoot iron sights. He likes shooting the
Mausers and Mosins and is pretty good, but it hard on him. Amazingly he don"t flinch.
i put a dud round in the gun with out him knowing and watched what he did when he pulled the
trigger there was absolutely no flinch.
