It's more than common, it's almost guaranteed!
How did the 91/30 fire?
Don't know if this is your first Mosin Nagant or not but the rule of thumb is you need to get another to compare it to and on and on.

The Marks are probably the most fun on these rifles. OK part of the fun, but you know what I mean. You will find Hammers, Circles with "R" in them, bow and arrows, arrows, and all sorts of stuff. It's really intriguing. When you buy a few more you will start to notice the difference.

Nice video, I like those POV's.
Winchester ammo? Next, an almost immediate step, get a tin or crate of some good Russian MilSurp corrosive. You have done the cosmoline cleaning routine already, now it's get the hang of doing a quick cleaning of the corrosive salts before you leave the range and a much more involved cleaning as soon as you get home. It's all part of the MN routine. Besides you probably can get an entire tin (440 rounds) for what you paid for the Winchester box.
At my age (70) I pack right a towel with the ammo. I got too many bruises already.
Now I would suggest your next purchase (and there will be more MN's) is a M44 or if you can afford it an M38. At the range when a M44 talks, the entire range listens!
Welcome to the world of Mosin Nagant's (MoSEEN NaGAN) and have fun.

The diamond mark is one of the refurbishment stamps.

What range were you shooting? 100, 125 yards? The "misses" would still be hits on a man sized target at that range, he be dead or so bad off as to be out of the fight for good and that's what the Mosin was made to do. SOme of these rifles may group shots into a spot the size of a half dollar on a target after years of practice, but most will not as the Soviets figured 4-6 MOA at that range was just fine. Rifles like the one you have were refurbished by the USSR after WW2, the idea was to store them away and use them to arm the Soviet people should the West invade, that never happened so now we get to play with them. During the refurb the rifle was stripped of every part, the parts went into giant piles of like parts and were refurbished together. These piles would have Tula, Izhevsk, along with any other arsenal that made the Mosin parts all mixed together, and no effort was made at the end of the line to match parts to whatever arsenal made the barrel and receiver. If you find a rifle with all matching parts, and it does happen, it's just by chance. Good shooting, in time you will get used to the action, like most military actions you can't baby it, smack that bolt hard, and as it's been refurbed you will have to break it in some.

Welcome!!
Glad to hear you enjoy the Mosin. I noticed in the video you were having some issue with the action... Very common with refurbs.
A good way of eliminating "Sticky bolt" can be found here on the mainpage;
