I sold a '38 Tula 91/30 a while back that had a two digit serial without an alpha numeric prefix and red letters. It was on a 37 date receiver and had a Soviet zig-zag spliced stock. It would have looked great in that crate!

Why are only the serial numbers marked in red and not all the stampings?
