Could someone recommend an inexpensive/functional .22 cal. scope? (under $100.00)

I bought a Barska 3-9x32 through Walmart.com for like $36 free shipping to store, I'm happy with it. They have a lot more stuff available through the website than you can find in one of their stores. I also picked up a Center Point 3-9x32 and a Leapers 3-9x40 off eBay, have less than $100 in all of them.

I've got a BSA 3x9 on my Ruger 10/22. I got it through MIDWAY as I recall and I am very happy with it.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

If you want real basic; I have the Wallyworld Bushnell 4x32 on my marlin, clear optics and a nice bright view. It can't be beaten for $29.95. The mounts did come loose a couple of weeks after I first installed it, some Blue Locktight has kept it rock solid since then.

You do need a reasonable length stock on your rifle for it, I had to mount it right at the front of then rails on my Marlin 65 to get the correct view.

I second the Wallyworld Bushnell. I put one on my son's 10/22. It's a great scope for the money. I did not use the mounts that came with it and still came in way under $100 total for the install.

I have a simmons 22 mag 3x9 on my marlin 795. I like it so far.

I would like to throw in a recommendation for Nikon Prostaff. I have a 4X Prostaff on a 10/22 and it is the best scope I have ever owned for a .22. It is parallax-free at 50 yards and holds zero very well on my little semi-auto. The only other scope I have on a .22 is an old Lyman All American Perma-Center 2 1/2 X with a German post reticle. Also an excellent scope, but they don't make them any more. It makes my Marlin .22 magnum a tack driver.

I read a review on the Bushnell 4 x 32 scope, and grabbed one from Wally World for $30.00. I was surprised at the quality of this cheapie. I mounted it on the new JW 15, dialed it in and started poking small holes in paper from about 50 yards, until the mosquitos started poking too many tiny holes in me.

The lifetime warranty means that I can have the scope replaced anytime for $10.00.

Cool! I don't think you can beat it for the price. Just watch for the mounts coming loose, unless you already locktighted them.

I plan to investigate that Walmart scope this weekend when I am up there, I want to put one on the Remington, but don't want to spend a fortune.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

They also have a 3-9 x 32 for just a few dollars more, but I usually shoot on 4 power on a .22 anyway so I didn't spring for the extra. (and more gismos to go wrong)

Sportsman's Guide has very affordable BSA scopes on their website that come complete with mounting rings.

I will look it over, I don't go fancy with the .22 scopes.

I bought a BSA Sweet 22 3x9x40mm from Sportsman's Guide for 40.00 when I was ordering something else. I have not mounted it yet. I can't decide which rifle to put it on, but it is a nice looking scope for the money with nice clear vision.

I used to get cheap Chinese 3x9x40's from someplace, I forget were now, I mounted a couple of them on .22's, one broke and was replaced with a 3x9x32.

This Hi-End tack-driver is now finished......

I got my CZ 452 magazine for the Chinese JW 15 today to finish my new squirrel terror.

Rifle $50.00
Magazine $35.00
Scope $30.00

A really decent .22 plinker for under $120.00, priceless. (to a skinflint)

Thats a good looking rifle! I looked at the cz452. They are nice but the new ones are pricey. I've been thinking about getting a 22 bolt action. They look like fun and look like great squirrel sniper.
