Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I'm contemplating keeping the top one in cosmoline. What's the best way to put it up for long term storage,JYD?

I use automotive grade cosmoline spray on the metal, once dry I then tightly wrap the rifle in a green plastic "contractor grade" trash bag tied tightly with tape to keep air from reaching the rifle. I have stored weapons 20+ years like this with no problems. I also stick the plastic wrapped rifle into a cheap gun sleeve to protect it from having the plastic ripped in the vault.

One can of spray will do five or six rifles, you can add multiple layers once the first is dry but it isn't necessary once the plastic is around it. Do not store leather gear with the rifle, and don't forget to tag it so you know whats inside.

Looks like you did well with both. Congratulations
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

No kidding! I'd buy all I could at those prices, especially considering the shape they look to be in.

Actually it has turned around. Our dollar is on par if not better than yours now. We didn't have an economic storm up here like you guys did.

Since I have enough shooters, whenever I get a gun still in cosmoline, it stays in cosmoline. Wise choice for yours. It will add a little value many years down the road....

... at least I tell myself that it will!

Both nice looking guns!
No words of wisdom come to mind at this time....

If you spray them, wrap them, and deep-six them then how can you see them? And when you are dead, the buzzards are gonna have a lot of cleaning to do.

The beauty of the uncleaned Gehenderas is that they are already encased in stone hard grease and oil, nothing can hurt them :)
