Mounting trijicon scope.

Post by 1934hexreceiver »

Recently acquired a really nice new in box $500 trijicon scope and if I don't use it on y mosin it will just be end up sitting around in my house. I was wondering if anyone has made a homemade cope mount for their mosin that will not alter the rifle in anyway and without drilling or tapping the rifle. I've been brainstorming an I can only think of ways that will work by removing the read sights. I don't really want to do this because I've heard about how difficult it can be and there may be times that I want to go back to iron sights. I really want to just have a scope mount that can be installed quickly if I ever needed it. I'd rather not invest in one. I just can't see spending as much money as some of them cost on a rifle that cost as little as mosins do. I was thinking of doing a type of mont that goes over the existing rear sights and clamps down to each side of the rear sights. Sorry I my explanation is unclear. I can't think of any better way to describe it. Anyways has anyone done any sort of homemade mount of any fashion. Pics would be appreciated.

Hello,

This is a very simple installation and I really like the fact that you retain the use of iron sights. It's completely and easily reversible.

Here is a vid, forgive the goofiness of it:

Mostly an installation review, but I do fire five shots at the end. They went high because I only had those five shots and didn't do more than a bore sight-in, but you get the idea of how it works.

I hope this helps you!

Regards,

Josh
