44 Rgun and 44 ATI let's compare

Here's the difference:
The 44 Izhevsk Rguns:
The Rguns is a really rough refurb at least the Izzys are. Does not mean they cannot shoot good It has a war time stock the bolts aren't as pretty the finish is not as good it comes with a hard case a nice sling and a scope cover. The rifle has the windage right on outta the box and most of the grease is cleaned off of it too. It's 800 delivered.
The ATIs are as real as it gets KINDA:
These are EAST GERMAN POLIZIE sniper rifles made to knock the defectors off the fence, I was there. Never saw it though. The laser etch reminds me of a GSG import.
These are not war time refurbs they are much better. They come in a box with 3 parts in it. Bolt scope and rifle, that's it and the price is about the same. If you are looking for wartime provenance then go to Rguns. Unless you are 1100% service connected, then you get a discount.
The stocks are post war, the finish is much better on them, kinda ugly same color as an old Gibson Les Paul back, but it stays on for the most part. The bolts are really good looking and have work done on them. The cocking knob is re worked and does not touch the cam at all, and fast action-ed smooth smooth. Way better than the Rgun refurb, nothing against the company it's Ivan. Make no mistake the ATI is a PU sniper. The Tulas have the CH on them and if you look at the 43 you can still see the scope number on the left side of the recv'r, yes they had them on the early ones, the 44 has one that is ground off also
The machining in the Tula is leap and bounds over the Rguns Izhevsk I think that's the case with Tula/ Izhevsk anyway. This is one thing that got me. I was thinking the PU would look better than the X not so. The Tula ex was much nicer it had work that I would expect on a sniper rifle. The Izhevsk seems kinda thrown together, the trigger pin hole is 1/2 again to big the chamber side wall is really rough compared to the Tula. I thought that Rguns made a sniper up, there was that much disparity in the work. I was wrong, but still ugly work is ugly work.
The ATI Tulas are nice looking rifles. The 44 Tula has a 98% barrel and the 43 looks new. The sight was mounted off to the left and the witness mark does not line up on the recv'r, should be fun at the range.
I don't know what to say, they are the same and different. If you are looking for a particular year then ATI may be the place to go I don't know if Eric will go through all of his, but I think Rgun hand picks for free and ATI charges 20 bucks.
Here's more pictures of the rifles atMy Guns got any questions about any of them I'll try to answer them or at least make up some lie about them
I have to 0 the 43 and 44 Tula and as soon as it's not 104+ put I'll be at the range.
ATI just got a big shipment of these in as they were released for import in 2010 I think, so they have them left.
