I received an ATI 1944 PU Sniper

Hi All,
Just got an ATI 1944 Izhevsk PU sniper. Literally just opened the box and gave the weapon a quick going over. I am pleased with what I see, typical Russian Izhevsk, has all the proof markings, stock looks nice, no real gouges or deep dents. The hang guards are a shade darker than the rest of the furniture. Bore is really crisp, I stuck a 7.62x54r round in the muzzle and it hardly swallowed it at all. Without the weapon being cleaned, the bolt still has a shorter trigger pull than a normal Mosin.
The scope mount has a matching serial number to the receiver. Receiver date is 1944, PU scope is dated 1943. The scope mount has no rough machining marks, looks to be all steel. The scope is full of grease and cosmoline. It will be tedious to clean this off. The front lens was covered by a piece of paper, the scope's lens cover was on, but was covering this greenish blue gummy substance that kept the lens cover on the lens between another piece of paper. This gummy substance is a real pain in the a$$ to deal with. The weapon came with a sling, although, me being a novice to the Mosin Sniper, I have never seen one like this. Does not look like your typical Mosin sling. This was the only accessory that came with the rifle.
I have to point the blame at all of you individuals on this Mosin Sniper forum. I bought an SOG Mosin Sniper repro. I have tinkered with this rifle to accurize it and get it to shoot 1" - 1.5" groups. BUT.......it is not an authentic Sniper. So, I had to get one. It's all of your fault. I had to sneak this rifle into the garage. I do not wanna wind up lock down with the wife. I will post detailed pics tommorrow. As I stated, I just got it a little while ago, I wanna clean her up and see it in sun light. Seems like a really nice rifle and I look forward to shooting it.
