MN ammo question
I'm a newbie to MN's so be gentle. Can the MN shoot 180+ grain ammo or is it not capable of handling it. I got some of the 147 grain but would like a bigger bullet but don't want to do any damage to my 1942 M38. If it's safe and acceptable to shoot the 180+ grain ammo, what's a reasonable price on it and where can you get it?

Re: MN ammo question
A '42 M38 should be able to handle any 7.62x54r ammo you can find. Were to get commercial ammo? Cabela's probably has something like that, or your local gun shop. I never used the stuff myself so I don't have a personal supplier to recommend.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I get it wherever i can find it. Gunshops sportinggood, stores, online. Cabellas probably has some. I have shot 180gr and 203gr wolf from a M38 with a great big grin on i might add.

Re: MN ammo question
I used it to find three different kinds of ammo earlier this week, very helpful, thank you

Re: MN ammo question
I found a new shotshell supplier down in Virginia who shipped me 100 rounds of Winchester 00 buck, and a brick of .22 for $9 shipping. All my defensive loads are factory fresh ammo, I rotate it every year, so this is very helpful. My old ammo supplier wanted $28 shipping and they are about the same distance away from me. I used the extra shipping savings to buy the .22.
As I plan to be upgrading my ammo stockpile all year the list will come in very handy.

Re: MN ammo question
This is exactly why the place exists. When I found the place last year I was looking for mil-surp ammo and found a few of the other ammo search engines. Used them for about a week and ran across gun-deals and was blown away with the simplicity. The difference between gundeals and the others is gun-deals was the original one and the others only draw from a few places (35 sites average) that let them use webcrawling bots to keep those sites updated. Gun-deals is user submitted and maintained. As a user and Admin. I do my best to keep the place as up to date as possible but it's a constant fight. Between myself the other Admins. and the owner it keeps us busy. We have over 400 vendors that people can list deals from. It's especailly hard right now because prices are changing and stuff is selling much faster than usual.Junk Yard Dog wrote:I found a new shotshell supplier down in Virginia who shipped me 100 rounds of Winchester 00 buck, and a brick of .22 for $9 shipping.
