I never set out to collect revolvers

But there was a time, about 20 years ago, when it seems that no one wanted the obsolete firearms and they were selling cheap. Some wheel guns drifted into my modest collection. These are my favorites. If I had to pick one for a defensive firearm, it wouln't be the most expensive, or the prettiest, but the Smith 65-2, a stainless steel .357 mag. (third down far right) Someone, probably a cop, back in the day, had this firearm tuned up by a real pro and it shoots like it. Some folks think that revolvers are not relevant weapons any more, but, six shots of .357 hollow-points, well placed will leave an indelible mark. The only one that I would totally discard as a protective piece would be the Nagant. It was made in 1915 and I am convinced that it was obsolete even then.

Nice collection there bro. I’m still cooped up with the bug and going stir crazy. Thought I’d take a spin around some forums I haven’t visited in a while and stumbled in on this one. I didn’t realize you had that many wheel guns.

Not relevant my ass, I feel well armed with any of my wheel guns, and that includes the front stuffers. Nice collection :)

Thanks Jim. I don't know who that other poster is, but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. ;)

I figured you’d been thrown off of this forum by now. When you got voted off the MDF (Midget Dating Forum) I assumed you were a goner here for sure. Hey, if your forum photo is our grandfather, I can see I got his good looks and you got his hair.

I, too have somehow fallen into the wheel gun collecting also. Although I have a few Colts, S&W is my preference. I am also a fan of .38 Special and .357 Magnum revolvers. Interesting you should mention of Model 65. As I recall this is the stainless version of the Model 13. I totally love that gun. I was able to pick up this Model 65-3 (1987) recently for a very good price. I'm sure I'll like this one just as much.
