Hungarian 48M Scope Questions

Hi - New to the forum; but have been collecting for a while. Mosins are not mor core competency, but I have a few. I do like Austro Hungarian and then Hungarian Milsurps.
I have a 48m Rifle including bayonet (I need a 02 marked cleaning rod if you have one laying around you don't need) and a 44m.
My questions are around the Sniper Variant of the 48m.
Did they use Russians scopes?
Where the scopes matched to the Serial Numbers of the gun?
Where the mounts matched to the Serial Numbers of the gun, I believe they were 02 marked?
Where the bases attached to the Serial Numbers of the gun, I believe they were 02 marked?
If I understand correctly these saw heavy use in Vietnam.
Thanks in advance for the insight.

Do you mean the Hungarian M52 pu sniper? The M.48 was the Hungarian copy of the Soviet M44 carbine. Yes, my M52 has the entire mount assembly 02 marked, and the scope is dated 1954 with "41" mark indicating Hungarian manufacture. The rifle was captured in Vietnam. The Hungarian made mount is nicely finished, more so that the WW2 Soviet version, same for the scope itself, and the rest of the weapon for that matter.

Sorry yes if that is the correct terminology for the sinper variant of the long rifle. In Hungaraian nomenclature the 44m is the copy of the Soviet M44. The 48m is the long rifle which would equate to the 91/30.

Sorry forgot to ask, does your scope have the rifle serial number on it? The mount, the base?

The scope on the M52, if original should be marked with the rifles s/n, bit the base and mount are just 02 marked.
As for Russian scopes on M52's, there was a collector I chatted with in Italy, and known by a few on this forum,(Alb87) that collected Hungarian Mosins and he said all production numbers he found on M52's indicated that scope production never kept up with demand for the rifled so using excess PU scopes and mounts cannot be ruled out, but he had not found any documentation that this indeed happened

That is a good site. I had some correspondence with him about a Steyr 1911 I have. Mine is the 4127 commercial model he lists. It is the one without a lanyard loop. I figured the loop had been ground off like countless others, but he pointed out that the serial number was stamped in a place that would be gone if it had been ground after being stamped.

And the Hungarians also had Russian PU snipers in their inventory, here are to Hungarian Marked (Kossuth Crest) 43 Izhevsk PU snipers, 2 of 4 documented in the U.S.

3 of the 4 known are matching rifles with replacement scopes, (4th is in an 02 stock), and from the same production prefix, (BT).
