Hi all,
I recently found a Remington built mosin with 1918 date. Pictures to follow. It appears to be in a 91/30 stock. My question is twofold. Does this appear to be a SCW rifle, this stock correct in the sense that it was put on in Spain?

Oh by the way, the store I got it from had an all numbers matching 1936 Tula (round receiver) in the same rack. It was missing the Made in USSR stamp, but has the exact same stock with forearm and brass pieces as the remington I posted above. Probably came out of the same estate or collection.

That made in USSR stamp is characteristic of the Spanish civil war rifles . Nice Remington, the Tula 91/30 could be another SCW import that just didn't get that USSR stamp, highly likely if there was no other import mark on it.

That seems to be average these days for 91/30's. If it has no import markings at all on it then likely it's worth having as such is rare among Mosins as the bulk came in post 1968 . Post 1988 for that matter. Buy it if it speaks to you, otherwise leave it for the next guy, just know that questions about should you buy this or that will mostly get a BUY IT from most members here who will live vicariously through helping you spend your money.

It didn’t speak to me as much as the Remington did.
