Family Friend's Death!

Post by ffuries »

My wife's best friend from HS in England, ex-husband, passed away on Thursday.

He left his house to go to work, he never arrived at work. Co-worker's asked the cop's to do a welfare check and he wasn't home, and nothing was amiss. HOURS later a motorist called the cops regarding an unresponsive individual slumped over in his car on the shoulder of the road.

So he left for work at 0400 at some point during the commute, his car ended up off the road along a guard rail. Whether he pulled over or his car left the road isn't known right now. Don't know if he shut it off, or if it ran until it ran out of gas, or even if it was in park or still in drive. His car sat there until 2000 when another motorist called it in, so 16 hours after he passed.

How many cars passed by in those 16 hours? Did a cop ever pass by? So 4 kids, 2 of them adults, and the other 2 in their early teens lost their father.

By the sound of things he wasn't elderly, that sucks. I would assume heart attack, or stroke to take him so quickly. Enough time to stop the vehicle safely, but not enough to call 911.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Sorry about your loss, Mike. Friends are too few to lose them too young.
