Adventures in Plumbing.......

Everyone was either napping or chilling out, when a strange cracking sound and rushing water was heard. I go and investigate the guest bathroom and water is pouring from the toilet tank. Turn the water off, flush the toilet, put garbage can under to catch leftover water, and start the cleanup.

The tank had cracked from the mounting bolt hole up to the top edge. Run get a new toilet, taking the old tank off I discovered that the little rubber bumpers between the tank and bowel are MIA. Neighbor tells me the MBR tank rocks back and forth also. So I check and low and behold the rubber bumpers are MIA there also. Also discovered with the guest bathroom toilet, that one flange bolt hadn't been inserted in the slot in the flange, so it was just floating.

The contractors that did his post Hurricane Michael repairs did some shoddy work. So now the guest bathroom is fixed, cleaned, and I'm back to chilling out. I'll go get the bumpers for the MBR toilet tomorrow, when I'm out for a doctor's appointment.

In other news......At our house, the drywall is up, mudded and taped, and getting final prep for paint. Flooring and trim will follow.......Getting closer, and they are still shooting for a 28/29 July handover.

This is why I just do everything myself, it may end up half assed, but at least I didn't pay someone else to fuck it up.

Subscribing the the old why pay someone else to fuck it up when you can do it just as well and all for the cost of a 12 pack I see :chuckles:

That being said whoever the contractor was deserves to be named and shamed.
