In Aug 2007 our oldest son left for USMC Boot Camp as a HS Graduate, in 2017 after ten years in the Corps, he left as a HS Graduate. He said I tried the military, it was fun, but not for me.
The weekend before last, 5 years after punching from the Corps, our oldest walked across the stage and received his Master's Degree. All paid for courtesy of the GI Bill, and VA educational benefits. Their graduation ceremony was held in Washington DC, and due to everything going on here with the house and my medical issues we were unable to attend. Doesn't mean I'm (we're) not proud as hell, for all he accomplished, and I (we) owe a big thank you to his beautiful wife Heather, as she had to pick up all the slack while he studied and did assignments. Now it's her turn to bust her ass and finish her degrees.
Good thing the kids got their mom's brains and not mine, since according to my dad, when they were handing out brains my ass thought they said rain and ran for cover.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
C. S. Lewis

Re: Graduation......!
Business Management, and Emergency Management. He took extra courses through FEMA and other Government Agencies to get the FEMA credentials.
Our daughter has a Associates, and I would/could have a Bachelors if I was smart enough to do the core classes. I maxed out on all the other credits, just from my military courses. So he's definitely the most educated......and probably the smartest!

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: Graduation......!
Mine paid for an apprenticeship and bought my first house. The apprenticeship essentially doubled my income from my first plumbing job. If I remember correctly I was being paid the fabulous sum of $2.50/hr. My new wife and I lived like royalty. ;)
