Okie Headspace Gauges
Okie Headspace Gauges
Hi, Is the Okie Headspace Gauges still available? I was reading the Headspacing section and it refers to them but there is nothing in the header and A search turns up a page that leads to another search page.

No. The fellow who made them was a member of this board and passed away some time ago. Okie was a one man shop, so when he died, that was it.

Any machinists out there wanting to make them?
Even the over seas guys stopped selling them on ebay.
Here is their webpage on the internet.

I keep this list on my computer for those looking. Any new ones, just let me know here.

Re: Okie Headspace Gauges
He was about to come out with a whole new product line when bad times caught him. He planned to branch out into making gauges for the rimless rounds like 8mm Mauser, and .30-06. He had good gauges, maybe one will turn up on eBay from time to time, pays to keep an eye out.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

He was the only one I know of that made headspace gauges for 8mm Lebel rifles. His gauges are among the best that are available.
Re: Okie Headspace Gauges
aww, Sorry to hear that. What brand would you all recommend then? Are they all pretty much the same. I see them at brownells/midway/Etc.

I'd like to get a set of the coin type like but can't seem to find them anywhere. All I seem to find are the large full case looking ones. Where can I get a set of the coin-type for the Mosin.
