Back from the ER.....

Post by ffuries »

Started having dizzy spells today, hell one time everything went black for a second, seriously thought I was going to face plant on the floor. They just come and go, no rhyme or reason. The only thing I've been doing is watching TV today and chilling out.

Had a bunch of tests ran at the ER and the results showed nothing!

EKG normal for me.

Blood work normal.

ICD interrogation showed no events, to include no slow or rapid heart rhythm.

X-ray normal.

BP was slightly elevated upon arrival, but returned to normal while there. Most likely elevated due to be being concerned over the dizziness.

No medical explanation for the dizziness, told since I have a Echocardiogram scheduled for Tuesday, to get with my Cardiologist or his nurse.

Guess I'm just becoming an Airhead in my old age! So off to bed I go, no late night for this boy!

Shit, a side effect from one of your meds? Hope they get it sorted out, meantime stay off the road, and no fucking around with chainsaws, or other power equipment.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

That happens to me, from time to time, too. I have learned that if I leave a couple of fingers worth of liquor in that Wild Turkey bottle, it helps. It is those last two drinks that get you.

This time of year, the trees are putting out some kind of sticky concoction that tears my sinuses up. My wife has been having problems with it affecting her balance when her inner ear is affected. If she bends down suddenly she nearly passes out.

A side effect of one of my meds is falling asleep during daily activities. Yesterday , standing up with a guitar around my neck, leaning back on a wall, I went to sleep a few seconds. When I woke up I felt like I shook the whole stage, but nobody looked at me.

On the pill bottle it probably has a warning about not mixing that medication with alcohol.

Your right Jim, it says don't drink alcohol with this medication. :vcool: It's one that treats Parkinsons symptoms.

My little brother was diagnosed with the onset of Early Parkinson's around 11 years ago. He believes it might be related to either our dad's exposure to Agent Orange during Vietnam or from us playing in areas where Agent Orange was stored in Okinawa (77-80) when we were kids. Obviously he was born after our dads service in Vietnam, and the only one between us that has been diagnosed with it.

Solved the mystery, and here people make fun of my medical degree from Crackerjack University.

Well stopped by and left a message for my cardio nurse, after my Echo appointment. They called right after we we walked into the house.

Doc has increased my BP medicine back to what is was in December of last year. They have me tracking my BP over the next few days until Monday when they want me to come in, but I must call them Friday and let them know my numbers. This way they can make a decision before the weekend if I should wait for the Monday appointment or hit the ER for a weekend stay at the hospital.

My BP had been jumping up into the 150 plus over 95 plus range just out of the blue. Haven't changed anything that I was/wasn't doing prior to the Ablation. Going to call my PCM tomorrow and chat with them about additional blood work. Symptoms aren't as bad as they were on Saturday but I'm still getting them.

There is thought it could be sugar levels......Although I've never be diagnosed as diabetic, hence the reason I want additional blood work to rule anything and everything out. We'll see what's going on, one way or another, I guess.....!

150? That's what happens to me whenever I hear the news of the day, step in yet another pile of dog shit, or when the forklift or loader shit the bed again. Simple solution is wear hearing protection and never look at TV, newspapers or turn on the radio, bury the neighbor in Jersey so the dog gets taken away to some other neighborhood, and never start the machines again. Get shirt printed up with If you share the news of the day with me uninvited then what happens to you will be the news of the day.

Hope you get that straightened up.

After all my labs, x-rays, EKG, ICD interrogation, etc, etc being checked, rechecked, and my Cardiologist having had someone else check them also, they have ruled out diabetes, cardiac issues, high blood pressure, low blood pressure.

They are starting to believe it might be Neurological related. They want me to talk to my Neurologist and have him run a battery of tests to either confirm or rule that out......

Ask them if it could be a case of the vapors, not sure what that is, but I hear it happens to folks down south.

They are still leaning towards a possible neurological issue, but they aren't 100% ruling out diabetes or pre-diabetes related.

Passed the blood glucose test, but my PCM thinks it could still be a sign of pre-diabetes. He thinks it could be I'm getting a a drop in natural insulin, but having a high sugar level and its causing me to become light headed. My A1C levels have consistently been good and stable, but you never know!

So we'll see after more testing to rule in or out diabetes, plus the CT Scan results of my head....Told them a head CT is pointless my skull is empty.

If you have an eye exam coming up soon, have the Dr. check for retinopathy. Diabetes can cause retinopathy, which is an increase in the number and size of blood vessels in and behind the retina. Often, an OD or opthalmologist will refer a pt. to a Dr. for the run of tests for diabetes.
Another way diabetes can mess with your eyes is that the retinopathy causes temporary changes in vision, which can last a few minutes to days. Things will get fuzzy, then change back without any effort on your part.

Me too. Kids found me unconscious on the kitchen floor. Been in since Thanksgiving. Had all the tests and seen all different specialists and their tests. They think it is neurological. Either mini strokes or seizures. Back to hospital after Christmas for tests. Have one those services that takes care of you at home. Need a walker to get around and no driving for at least 6 months or maybe never.

Compared to you two I have no problems. I hope you get all that sorted out soon.
