I am going to break the rules to post about a live auction. Please forgive me. ;)
The revolver that Jones used in the movies is for sale on Gunbroker. The same one used in the scene where he kills the sword master in the market in Cairo. Alas, it will never kill again, as the British permanently disabled it before export. So no FFL needed....The really good thing is that it has free shipping! That made up my mind. Opening price, $5,000,000.00. I am going to wait until the last minute to bid and try to snipe it!

Re: Indiana Jones' revolver for sale
Five mill for a broken revolver carried by some moron Hollywood actor? What fuckin idiot would pay that, even five hundred would be too much. What would a real hero's pistol be worth? The revolver TR carried in Cuba ( I have seen it, it was stolen, the FBI got it back, it's on display Sagamore hill) or Alvin York's 1911? How about Audie Murphy's personal " lucky carbine" ?
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

His hat sold for over 100K....To some folks money is just no object. They are usually the same people who never worked a day in their lives...Junk Yard Dog wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 7:19 pm Five mill for a broken revolver carried by some moron Hollywood actor? It would have to be someone older to even remember these movies, 80's action movies are not exactly the classics of the golden era. The family will hate it when the hat fails to reach reserve at the estate auction because the younger generations don't know the movie, or even the actor by then. The Terminator, Indy, the bald guy from the die hard movies, Mad Max, Rocky, they are all reaching the end of believability as action hero's.SA1911a1 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 3:51 pmHis hat sold for over 100K....To some folks money is just no object. Audi Murphy's rifle, now that would be a worthwhile addition to the collection. In fact, I would rather have York's rifle than his 1911. How many surrendered to him that day? A Company or Battalion?

Re: Indiana Jones' revolver for sale
He took nearly 50 men in the famous incident against the machine gun positions, the last squad of them with the M1911 pistol when they tried a bayonet charge. On the way back with the prisoners the German officer ordered other German troops they came across to surrender. By the time they reached US lines they had 132 prisoners. He ran low on rifle ammo, and it was the 1911 that saved him during that final charge. The Germans had figured he was runni8ng low on ammo, they either didn't see the pistol, or didn't think he could use it, big mistake. One German tossed a grenade after they had surrendered trying to get York, he got some of his own instead, and York shot him for his trouble.

Crap for a little over 500 I picked up my new Uberti Gunfighter today that really works. It would drop a sword wielding hadji a lot quicker too with the 45 Colt slug
