i picked it up today for $280 and total price with ammo was $400. whoever owned it before never cleaned it because it was very dirty and all the metal parts needed a good cleaning and oil. i thought it had the black paint at first but now think it has some kind of blue or black finish but not paint.rifle is a matching gun.

It is a "D" Letter Gun. Barrel will be a chrome lined one. Well cleaned and shiny that gun is worth more than your total price including
the ammo you bought with it. It is always a Super day when the Dealer instead of the Customer gets screwed! :big shock:

I can see no refurb mark on that receiver cover either. But it appears you may have used a flash. Finish looks light when up close, but looks
like blue from a distance. Has it perhaps a Park finish? Be sure the firing pin floats very freely. If it was very dirty you may have to take the pin out and clean every thing. Do not oil the pin or pin channel.

I have not seen or heard of a nice Russian like that going for $285 for a couple of years now. Perhaps a real junker or worse.

CONGRATULATIONS !

no flash i think it is park finish because it is faded and on one end and darker on the other. they took it in on a trade and wanted to move it. bore looks like it is new and chrome

I have seen a few pictures in the past showing A Russian with a Park finish. Why or when they did this I am not sure. Some have the theory that a few carbines
were Parked before the BBQ process was started. I have read some articles and saw pics of a Russian that the owner stripped the BBQ off of and found
that there was a Park finish under the BBQ. To bad there are no records released by the Russians.
Oh, notice the light color in the center of the cover. That is because the metal there is softer so they could roll stamp it easily if needed.
It sort of verifies authenticity. Most of these are at about $425 to $450 if I remember Boomers average right now. I just sold a K letter in a laminate a few weeks ago on GB for $450. I would stay in touch with that Dealer.

I've had two or three of the black phosphated refurbs. Don't run across them all that often. Nice score, looks good in the darker colored laminate.

Very nice and well worth the $280 and tax. Being a matching Letter Gun is an added bonus, total price with ammo, :wow:

Excellent find

My wife always asks how much can you sell it for with all my guns . Sees $$$$ signs in all of them. Can't stand to to see my resting feet in the air either. Its like an alarm goes off "honey while your not doing anything " go sell one of you guns.
