Hi,
I'm playing with my new toy, a 1943 PU SVT tube scope. When i'm turning the elevation knob, it goes strait up and down. But, when I turn the windage knob, I can see a jump up or down as the crossair mooves left-right.
I have search in the very interesting dissasembly/repair post on gunboard (there are no more pictures sadly...)but, cannot find a clear answer.
Can it be the elevetion leather washer?
the knobs seems to have a ok tension.
Is there an easy fix for that?
Thanks
Mat
PU scope problem (svt)tube ??
Re: PU scope problem (svt)tube ??
Ok, I dissasemblied the turrets and replaced the leather washers with thicker ones. Now, it's better but the reticule still move up or down when I move the windage. I would guess it's the loosy tolerance... so I always adjust the knob by ''screwing in the same direction to have the ''erreo always at the same place. It seems to work pretty good.
Can I use silicone grease inside the adjustement knob/ leather washer? I think I have readed it somewhere.
Thanks
Mat

These are very technical questions you are asking. 99.9% of the people here won't be able to answer them properly.
I would suggest you send an PM and an email to Ratnik who is on this forums.
