coming up this weekend. Centurion auctions out of Tallahassee. The catalog is online. They have some stuff worth going to look at, even if you aren't in a bidding mood. They also have some lots of ammo for sale, but I suspect it will sell for slightly over the cost of gold, but who knows? If anyone wants a Thompson, there is one with estimated price from 30-50K. Unfortunately, as much as I would like to buy that one my Social Security check won't be here in time for the auction and my wife won't front me the money.....And, no, as much as I wish I did, I have no interest in the business, I just thought you folks could use some drooling time.

A ton of drool worthy pistols and rifles to satisfy anyone's tastes. One thing that I noticed was that their "est values" for these guns are way too low. Guess, this is how the get bidders going. I've always been scared to jump into one of these auctions. But, what an assortment of fine firearms... If I'm a billionaire, I'll take one of each

Some years back I had my eye on a nice Swiss Vetterli out of one of the Tallahassee auctions.
Watched the auction all damn day for my lot to come up. Seems every lot before took 10 minutes or longer for them to close. They kept doing the closing, closing then someone would bid and it would start over again.
The Vetterli auction finally comes up, I bid, get out bidded, I tried to bid again and the lot closes as sold, no warning no nothing. The guy who out bidded my initial bid won it with his initial bid. The whole window for the Vetterli lasted less than a minute.
Never understood how that happened and why it closed so damn quick, the next item that came up, lasted over 5 minutes with no bids at all. From that day forward I swore I never do it again.
Two weeks later at a local gun show, I picked up an even nicer Swiss Vetterli at an even nicer price.
