38 days left in the season, Epsilon is in the Atlantic, there is a disturbance that is likely to become a Tropical Storm so that will be Zeta. That will tie us with the 2005 Hurricane season with 27 named storms.
If we vet one more storm after Zeta we'll set a new record, even though the season ends 30 Nov, we can still have storms. The 2005 season had a late storm in Dec/Jan.
So we'll see if 2020 will set a new record for most named storms.

I would rather set the record for the most cookies eaten in a day, it just sounds much more pleasant.

Both, only the two bags in the cookie closet? Oreo has so many flavors in both single and double stuffed, best to just buy all the flavors and dump the bags into a big bowl, and have at it. I keep a special 20mm ammo can full of cookies to be opened the moment the radio sounds the tone, and follows it with the " This is not a drill" message. No way out of here in the event of that, might as well give in to my wildest cookie eating desires without consequences, got some special cigars also. With my luck it will go down at 2am while I am sleeping and I will miss out.

Don't worry Jim, in your heaven, the streets will be paved with Oreos.

In AZ we have set a record for the most days over 110 degrees as well the hottest summer in history.

Well the latest disturbance has formed into Tropical Storm Zeta. While a Tropical Storm right now it's expected to become a fast moving category 1 or 2 storm.
Right now the models have us in a few of its projected tracks, but that is subject to change.

Well the latest depression/disturbance has officially become a tropical storm, it's now TS Eta. 2020 has set the record for the most named storms since they started keeping track. This season and year can't end soon enough......28 named storms with 30 official days left in the season and 61 days left in the year.
Only 17 Greek names left.
