This supposed to by our monsoons season with lots of rain. Hasn’t happened. Here’s what part of metro Phoenix get yesterday. Like in Iraq during the Gulf War.

I remember experiencing several dust storms like that during my months at Ali Al Salem, Kuwait (Southern Watch in 1999). Good gawd it made a hell of a racket when the tents started slapping around. Let's just put it this way, you didn't get any damn sleep, that's for sure.

I remember getting out of my bed, and there was a dusty outline of my body on the blanket where I was laying.

Down here in Tucson, we got our only significant monsoon a few days ago. Knocked the temperature down about twenty degrees and shut a couple of roads down due to the wash running.
