Accused of impersonation

Post by ffuries »

My vehicle has DV (Disabled Veteran) plates. Which means I was rated 100% disabled by the Military or VA. The rules state either a VA Rating, Military Retirement Orders, or DD-214 stating 100% disabled to qualify. But the tag office will only accept the VA Rating letter. No big deal I've got all three versions of the paperwork.

Ran an errand to Wal Mart and I had some idiots today state that there is "No fucking way you served in the military, you look overweight". Hmm, told them I don't have to meet weight requirements now that I'm retired, and my weight gain is from medical issues. Then just to add insult to injury, I pulled my Retired ID Card and showed it to the assholes. Asked them if they wanted to see my Retirement Orders or my VA letter too, since I've got copies of them in the vehicle.

They got real quiet, told them to beat feet before I decide to have a bad day and put their skinny asses in the hospital. Fucking worthless shit heads.

So how was yalls Wal Mart run today.....?

Mine wasn’t that bad. Regular ‘smash and grab’ approach and was in and out. No cash doesn’t bother me as much as others but the damned thing wouldn’t take my normal debit card without a PIN. I don’t know it and always sign anyway even if I knew it. Trip through AT&T store was a Charlie Foxtrot as usual.

Walmart.com, the answer to having to deal with the amazing crop of human shit that washes up on Walmarts shores. I haven't set foot in a store in years, I always mail drop whatever the fuck I want from them. Mostly oil and other vehicle fluids, the online prices are hard to beat for anything I am not getting by the 55 gallon drum. If somebody approached me with belligerence and mouth in a parking lot they would be putting their lives on the line, these days I am ultra paranoid when out and about.

You were more polite then I would have been. I wouldn't have showed them anything. Who the Hell do they think they are anyway?

You are not obligated to prove anything to any jerk head that comes around. Tell them to piss off, and if they bother you, get a concealed carry.

Yeah my kids talk about how I was a hardass when I was still in, and how I've mellowed in retirement. The guys that came around here because of my daughter feared me without me saying any thing.

While I was still in, I was hardcore confrontational, now I'm not and my oldest who was a Marine for 10 years, says I'm scarier now. As he says it's the silent ones you need to fear......

We have enough disabled/retired veterans around here that most people simply assume that if you look like a vet, you probably are one. Tucson and Sierra Vista are essentially considered military towns and Tucson has the regional VA, so that is a major factor for retirees looking for a place to retire. Southern Arizona VA isn't perfect, but it is a lot better than the one in Phoenix so I've heard. Most of the retirees I know are in private medical networks, but like the fact that the VA is here if they were to suddenly need it.

Same here Jim. I haven't set foot in a Walmart since last year when the CEO announced they'd partnered with Bloomberg's "Mom's Demand Action" and "Everytown For Gun Safety" to help them financially lobby for gun control laws like reinstatement of the "Assault Weapon" ban, magazine restrictions and "Redflag" laws among other horribly restrictive gun laws. So if you shop at Walmart some of the money you're spending there is going to support the removal of your 2nd Amendment rights and they are unapologetic about it. On top of that I got an email from them because I used to buy from them online stating they're going to be supporting a bunch of politically correct, virtue signaling BS. This was from the email " Specifically, we’re going to focus the power of Walmart on our nation’s financial, healthcare, education, and criminal justice systems. Building on what our business can do, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are also committing $100 million over five years through a new center for racial equity. The goal of the center will be to address racism in society head-on and accelerate change."

We used to spend $12,000 to $15,000 a year at Walmart but I won't give them my money to help infringe on my Constitutional right to "Keep and bear arms" and I won't be part of their social engineering.

Most of my lubrication needs are handled in bulk, Walmart might get fifty bucks a year out of me for small shit. They never send me any emails about anything, anti gun while selling guns and ammo, and gun gear, typical. Right now surviving Covid is my only concern, if buying something from walmart.com keeps me out of a store someplace that's OK for now. Once we are past all this shit, if ever, then I will worry about their politics. Some of our friends and customers have given me graphic testimony on what having the disease is like. I don't have words to describe how much I don't want to get the Chinese virus. At this point I will do deals with the Devil himself to avoid the Covid ridden public.

Amen Darryl, I'd have told them to go fuck a dog and then went on in.
