Haven't got to shoot it yet but for $150 it was priced right. Haven't decided how I feel about the frame safety that had to be added on to import it yet but at least it's not on the slide.

I like it. I pulled the add-on safeties off of my shooter Tokarevs. The Russians have an old saying, "The safety is between the ears."

Zastava M57 - standard sidearm of the Yugoslav Army. This is new manufactured pistol with frame safety factory installed, marked M57s or M57A (slide safety).

Nothing really but import laws require it to be there. I could even legally remove it but then I'd have a hole in the frame. Probably keep it just so I don't have to bother with finding a way to cover the hole. Also he's a little off on the new part. All the new manufactured guns imported have the slide safety and no lanyard loops. Surplus guns either have the frame safety like this one with lanyard loops still. Or they have their lanyard loops and the trigger safety. For Yugo's anyway for Romanian's not sure. But ya they all have a safety on them due to import laws because the ATF just has to make things complicated. The other dead give away on the surplus guns is they have the Yugoslavian communist crest on them mine does and I'll post a picture tomorrow of it if anyone would like to see it that has never seen one.

Yes you did good. Chinese versions, chambered for 9mm parabellum, the ones that sold for a $100.00 new in the late 80's have been marked $349.00 in Phoenix area gun and pawnshops.

For me, the Tokarev 7.62x25 is one of the most fun semi's to fire. And very accurate too.

Nice one!

I really enjoy my Tokarev's too. That's a very nice score for 150 bucks!
