Norinco 1911a1..... Part 2

Post by Sonny »

So you may remember that I had one of these before and that the slide stuck open on me. Well as was suggested I hit it with a rubber mallet and the slide freed up. Darn pistol shot great after that but I had a bad feeling about the gun so I sold it and was sorry I did soon afterwards.
Well there was a shop in BC that had some for only $389 canuckbucks so I had to have another. It arrived this morning and straight out of the box it had a cracked grip... grrr Oh well no big deal as I was going to change them out anyway.
A quick trip to the range and it shot pretty good but I did have one failure to feed which isn't to bad. I'll do some more shooting when it warms up a bit which should be around the second week in July.

Here's a couple of pics.

I got ahold of the shop and they are going to send me a new set of grips.

As for this set it looks like whoever put the grips on got carried away with the screwdriver and torqued the screw down to hard and caused the grip to crack right at the screw hole.

I've had one since the 80's or so, mine has been very reliable.

The shop didn't have the original Norinco grips for my 1911 so they sent me a pair of Coolhand Scorpio grips .But that was after few delays due to all of this coronavirus BS.
They look pretty good but you know the old saying. "You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig."

Yup I think I am all done buying chinese guns. Hell I'm going to do my best NOT to buy any products made in China. After what they did to the world I only have three words for them. Eff you China. :very mad:
