Mounting scout scope effectively w/out alteration

I want to scout scope a 91/30. I'm shimming it, but not changing furniture, trigger or bedding it. She is beautiful mosina. I want great things for her.
it seems my best options are:
1.mount screwed/pinned into rear sight (doesn't sound stable)
2. Mount on rear sight's dovetail (leapers 1 piece interferes with handguard, but would be ideal if it didn't)
3. Don't wanna mention this one. Some people do it, but they obviously have too many mosins.

I'm wondering if anyone has found a reasonably inexpensive, solid, well constructed dovetail mount, or found a way to make leapers mount work with the handguard.
Sorry for #3, I am pandering, is first post.

The mount on the rear sight base is stable as any. You may have to saw off about an inch of the base to not interfere w/ handguard. Make sure the set screws that touch the barrel aren't overtightened, making the base unlevel. Be sure to store your sight parts safely, so it can be put back on later. There is a dovetail under the Mosin sight base, but the scout system works fine.

I'm not a big fan of doing this but if you have too.....

I only recommend the S&K scope mount.

It's 100% non-altering and very stable. not that expensive and a good answer (if you need to).

They are not a advertiser here as they don't do any advertising. So they can keep the pricing down.

Im all for not altering if there are other methods to make it stable.
