Right place at the right time...

Post by awalker1829 »

I went to one of the better LGSs on Saturday to get a replacement extractor for my 1911A1 and left with the part, some M1 carbine ammo and a milsurp rifle on layaway. When I walked in, a couple of guys were looking at what appeared to be a No. 1 Mk III Enfield. Overheard the clerk telling them it was Indian made and chambered in .308. They quickly put it down and I asked the clerk for it. Turns out it’s an RFI Model 2A made at Ishapore. Barrel looked very good. I didn’t have that much cash on me at the moment, so I put it on layaway. That made plenty of sense as they won’t be able to release the rifle until the end of the month anyways.

The reason they cannot release the rifle is a City of Tucson ordinance. When they buy a used gun from a private party, they must hold the firearm for thirty days. They had only acquired it a couple of days previously, so its gotta sit in time out. They also had a nice looking Japan paratrooper rifle but that was a little expensive for me.

They are short action fast shooters. 12 quick rounds and they accept 10 round strippers with ease. Similar situation,
I was leaving a gun store and met a guy coming in with a 51 Tula SKS. He never made it into the store.
