I found a local gun store that had a whole case of this stuff. It hasn't been imported since the 90's. It probably got stuck in a corner somewhere and forgotten. The owner wanted a ridiculous 60 cents a round for it and I told him I wasn't willing to pay that much, since I could order PPU online for about 36 cents a round plus shipping cost. He said to make him an offer. Knowing this is pre-ban ammo and getting kind of rare, I offered him a reasonable 40 cents a round. He took it, and I bought 750 rounds. Head stamp indicates 1993 manufacture date. Cases are copper-washed steel case with lead-core bullet and bimetal jacket that will attract to a magnet. Think this is pretty much the construction of Chinese ammo made in that time frame, because I have several boxes of Norinco 7.62x39 that is similar copper-washed casing.

That should be good ammo and non corrosive. I've got a few hundred 7.62X51 made the same way, headstamped '88 I think.

This ammo shot very well in both the CZ52 and TT33C (Polish). I did leave a noticeable copper fouling in the bore, but Shooter's Choice copper solvent took care of that.

That should be good shooting ammo. I shot up a lot of that stuff ,wish it was still available.
