I agree. Also, where is the serial numbers on the bolt? Are my poor eyes missing them or are there none?Miller Tyme wrote:Bolt handle bend is all wrong, as to the rest of the gun, the lack of an [SA] stamp leads me to believe its is either an ex-sniper that was redrilled or a humper made to appear to be an ex-sniper.
Miller is making reference to the bend itself (I think). It is not a bend that was made by the Russians. Too rounded off. Also, the bolt wonders away from the stock. On Russiana's the parallel the stock pretty close. There doesn't seem to be an impact mark on the underside of the bolt bend. Russians do. When they are made in the states, they usuall bend the handle with heat and not impact making a rounder bend. Also, when they weld it onto the bolt, it messes up the original serial numbers. So they usually grind them off. And seeing they don't have the correct font to put them back, they leave it blank.Ed55fl wrote:I'm sure you guys are right. Knowing more then I. Bolt does look the one in Vic Thomas's picture .Mount does not look like the on accumount offers. Thanks for the info
Not to give you a short, or rude answer, but the guys you are talking to know these things, it comes from years or decades of serious study....If they say it is not real, it is not real.Ed55fl wrote:How can you tell fake ?
