BHO Magazines

I have a WASR 10 inbound and read that they don't have the BHO feature. So been looking into BHO magazines, reviews and information about them contradict one another based on which site you look at or who wrote it. Reason I'm looking into this is it will make life easier at the range. RSO can see the bolt open during cease fire periods.

So I trust this forums members opinions!

Anyone have experience with BHO magazines?
Which ones worked best for you?
Any that I should stay away from?

It's all they are good for; Putting a new Tapco trigger set in will accomplish the same thing; Slowly letting the bolt forward until it is held by the pressure of the hammer against the bolt works for me; the bolt stays open, then just insert a mag and a tap to the bolt handle sends it forward.

I have a yugo mag that still surprises me when I forget I have it in; it seems to hold the bolt open well.

I have a few Yugo BHO magazines that work well in my WASR 10/63. One thing to remember with a BHO magazine is as soon as you release the magazine it's dropping back into place. I haven't tried any others than the Yugo ones. Mine came with the Tapco G2 trigger and it's pretty nice also.

I dremeled a notch into my safety lever on the WASR to lock the charging handle into when needing to show the bolt open. I used some of the Croatian mags with BHO, they worked but like Razor said, the bolt will slam forward when you remove the mag.

Gibbs Rifle Company has steel BHO. Think they are Romanian? You could also swap out the selector for one with the BHO cut out.

You might want to try this. It has worked for me on some of my AKs. After you take out the empty magazine pull back the charging lever and hold the trigger. I have been able to have mine lock.
