Monarch and Tula shoot better than S&B and PPU out of my 1954 Romanian M44. The reloads that I have started reloading shoot better than anything.

Interesting as Monarch is a house brand made by PPU. I have found that my different rifles tend to like different ammo.

The Monarch steel case is Brown Bear, the brass is PPU. My favorite 91/30 likes the Monarch and the S&B, the Tulammo not so much.

The 123 grain Hornady bullets and 174 grain Hornady bullets shoot good tight groups, but the 150 grain Privi are all over the place. I’m thinking of putting a Timney trigger when I get some money.

Don't put a timney trigger in a MN. Go buy a modern .308 if you want a target rifle. :2cents:

The main thing that scares me about the Timney trigger is having to do woodwork on my stock to make it fit.

That's reason enough for me not to do it.

I have a CZ 527 chambered in 7.62x39. I have had it for more than a year and it is pretty accurate with iron sights, but I am going to put a scope on it soon and start reloading for it to reach out further.
