Reloading for the SKS

I have been reloading for several years and I know there is always the exception to the rule. I have just found another one in the Lyman manuals, at least the 49th and 50th editions. Please don't consider this a bashing thread as it is not! Just simply a FYI thread.
I am in the process of loading some test loads for my SKS using the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook, and I'm using a small supply of Remington brass I have on hand. I remembered reading in the Lyman 49th Edition manual that while Winchester 7.62X39 brass have large primer pockets, Remington have small primer pockets. As I was priming my brass I had one case that would not hold the primer. I figured being brass I received from a source other than myself it was beyond it's final reloading due to a worn out primer pocket, but when I looked it actually has a large primer pocket. Not attacking the Lyman team as they are working with such a large amount of components in their work, just giving a heads up that all is not always as it seems. I normally sort all of my brass and one spec that I check is pocket size. With these I didn't and accepted what I read about them. Just to show we must be diligent in every aspect of inspection.
Not a problem, since they are test rounds to ensure the function of the action in my SKS, I will use the case. However I would not include it in a lot that I planned to use for target shooting, I prefer all components in a lot to match.
Just another example of, don't take someone else's word as gospel.
