I never thought I would jump on the AR15 bandwagon. I have shot them quite a bit and liked them but then about a year ago I bought a basic optics ready Anderson Mfg. and added a few accessories aand really enjoyed it at the range. I had a chance recently to pick up another one and added a Bushmaster XM-15 A2 and after taking it to the range the other day I'm sure happy I did. These are easy to burn through ammo with however, the whole reason I held off so long.
I found a nice indoor range locally that allows rifles and handguns on the same range.
Dipshits down in New York City just assume everyone in Texas has at least two of these anyway, so you are just doing your part to live up to their expectations Keep up the good work, nice range.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

I really enjoy the Lego rifles, am in the middle of yet another build. Bear Creek Arsenal did another Veterans Day giveaway to vets, the free 5.56 1:8 barrel arrived today. Now just waiting on a couple more parts.
Can't believe I got hooked on these things in the past year. I enjoy shooting them, but it is an occasional joy, as I don't like the clean up when the shooting is done. It's much easier to clean a bolt action after range time. Even the M-1 Garand is a bit easier to take care of. Nevertheless, here is my favorite, a Colt Competition retro-AR-15 from the 1970's.

I have a Anderson lower/Smith and Wesson sport 1 upper AR with a decent single stage trigger, an A2 style stock (since I can’t have adjustable in mass anyway), and just a “handle” sight.
I love it! Also have the .22lr conversion kit and several mags for that

I shot my son's 300 blackout pistol this week. It is the loudest fu@king gun i have ever shot. a 10" barrel with a 3" muzzle brake makes it louder than a jet exhaust.
ARs, parts, optics, and ammo are pretty cheap right now. I blow through ammo with them, but it's cheap steel case (under $5 for 20 rounds). I love my surplus rifles, but I feel an AR would be great if I somehow magically found myself in a horrible situation. Once sighted in (red dot), it's almost effortless to hit a target within 50 yards. I haven't tried any quick follow up shots at 100 yards, but I wouldn't imagine they be horribly difficult.
