What did I just buy? (Flare gun edition)

Anyone know anything about this flare gun? Origin? Value? Dated 1954 with a triangle m mark. Just bought it on a whim at a local flea market.

Looks a lot like the Polish, Czech and Bulgarian Signal Pistols, just not seeing one marked like yours.

I figured it was Soviet bloc. My first thoughts were Russian or Czech but who knows. It came with the carry bag that it’s sitting on (Polish I believe) and 4 boxes of Czech 26.5mm flares (2 unopened, 2 partials.) I think it would be considered a m44 flare pistol?
