Hi all!
I've been researching the marks on my Model 1891 to find out the guns backstory and I've come across a couple of symbols that I can't seem to find any mention of. The marks in question look like an eagle with a ''N'' under it and some kind of Coat of arms, It's to the left of the ''5KC'' in the photo below.
Any help in solving this mystery would be welcome ;)

Looks like you have a modern German import/proofing mark. Really fine rifle there. PUOSTUSLAITOS marked M91s are not easy to come by.

Same import marks as Leigonary's 91/38, on page two, except his is 10KC and no Finn stamp.

@Homer2 , thanks a lot! Never would've found out about that one on my own, I was looking to hard for pre-1945 marks.
Anyway it appears that this gun has started his journey in Izhevsk then proceeded to be captured by Austria-Hungary in WWI and taken to Vienna where it was transported to Finland in the winter war against its maker Russia, and then somehow found its way to Ulm in Germany and later in 1968 to Munich (the coat of arms mentioned above appears to be an approval stamp from Munich). And finally it was acquired by my local gun store in East-Flanders.
This gun has certainly been places! This is my first historical gun that I bought, and finding out this backstory makes me so excited!
Thanks again for the replies!
