Need help identify PU rifle

Post by zrv8789 »

Hello guys, I recently bought this rifle. Being new to Mosins I start researching and it seems to me it's a fake PU. Can somebody help me identify it?
Thanks in advance!!!

Yes, this is not an original PU sniper. Regular rifle with recently produced ukranian mount/scope

From what I can see the scope looks like a reproduction as well. The turret screws are flat and not domed. The mount has the milling marks on the wrong side. Can't see much about the base. Oh and rough receiver too.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your input.
Now I have to figure out how to get rid of it.

Sell it for what it is.......A repro sniper rifle. Lots of people would buy it just because they can't afford a real one.

That's the plan.
Believe it of not, I was actually looking for SVT. Just came across this one at the gun show. Was always into modern stuff and had no idea about fakes. Although, being a grandson of WWII veterans, I should of known better.
Anyways, it seems that it's a great alternative to SVT (if it's a real one). Thanks again!

300 bucks really isn't a bad deal for a repro IF it shoots okay. People are trying to sell standard 9130s for 200 to 250 right now! If it shoots well, keep it, and shoot the crap out of it.

Honestly if it shoots well and you didn't take a bath keep it. Finding a SVT that is in anything remotely nice condition at a decent price might be harder then finding a real sniper unless you got some canuck friends because for some reason they can import SVT's and we can't.

For 300 bucks I’ll take it off your hands. :)
