The x39 bunch

Post by Greasemonkey »

The house was quite today, no wife and kids  so I figured I'd do a group shot of the x39 rifles in my safe. Took quite awhile, the wife came home after I took the last shot, stood there and said ""it looks like some kind of arms deal" I finally got a group shot with nothing missing and a few that belong due to caliber, but don't really due to design. Afterward, they were moved to the new larger safe I recently picked up to eliminate 2 of the smaller safes.

Here is a list of what's in the photos.
2 MAK90's, Vz 58, Chinese /26\ early 9 million series, Chinese /636\, Chinese w/Tula star(Soviet Sino), Chinese Security marked /016\, '78 Albanian, '71 Yugo, matching '57 Romanian, '59 Romanian, '52 Tula laminate, early '50 Tula non chrome bore.

Enjoy :toast:

Yugoslavian made SKS rifle. The other day a guy overheard me talking guns with somebody, I had said I have a Yugo ( we were talking SKS and AK rifles) right away he pipes up with " you drive a Yugo? HA HA HA HA...." NO! Yugoslavian SKS rifle....Yugoslavian SKS rifle....

I would be amazed as well if someone said that...if there's still one on the road, it's gotta be just the shell with a transplanted drivetrain from some other make! Had a buddy years ago had one, his alternator went out, could NOT buy a new one anywhere, junkyard wanted $200 bucks for one off the scrap heap. We made brackets and put a GM one on it, that worked fine till the body eventually rusted in two just behind the seats...
