BP shotgun shells
Has anyone shot black powder shotgun shells through a pump action? How hard would it be to clean? Been watching some videos online and seen a round ball load I want to try. All I have is black powder and no reloading supplies to use smokeless. The original load was bp btw. Maybe I'll have to go to the used gun section and pick up a single shot for 50 bucks.

Re: BP shotgun shells
Yes, back when I wanted to shoot my model 1893 Winchester pump shotgun. You clean it as you would any other black powder shooting firearm, soap and water, scrubbing. If anything it's easier due to the shorter barrel with the breech end open and most shotguns fully disassemble easier that actions pinned into full wood stocks. What pump shotgun do you have that's so old it needs BP shells? Smokeless BP shells are not expensive, or hard to come by, I had to make them for that Winchester because it was a BP era gun and needed them, otherwise I would have used low brass smokeless.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
