Does anyone know the size and thread pitch of the front sight post on my Russian SKS !

Same as the AK, FWIW. Take it out and measure it with a metric pitch & size tool.

M6x.75" according to Kensights description on Midway.

You can get assorted bright color plastic replacement posts from Cheaper than dirt, maybe E-bay.

The Ak/SKS sight post are both M6x.75 and pretty much interchangeable, the only difference is, typically the Ak post is just a little longer.

I put the bright pink one today in a Yugo, it shows up well inside and very well outside, You could even say it glows.

But do the other SKS's let it join in their SKS games?

We bought a set of the multicolored ones, the wife put an orange one in her Chinese SKS and she can see much better.

Thanks all that responded ! I ended up getting a set of those colored plastic ones from Ebay. They fit fine, but was not that impressed with them. I had a few pieces of optic fiber rod aroung, so i drilled and glued in a piece of the rod into one of the plastic sight post. Happy with it !!!!

That is a fabulous mod! Talk about glowing front sight posts, yours wins.
