AR15 A2

Post by ffuries »

Went to the Dothan Alabama gun-show today, not much in the milsurps department. Saw one MN M91-30, a couple SKS's, and a few Garand's, and about 5 South American Mauser's, and a Type 99 Arisaka. So as I am looking for non sportered wood and steel rifles, my wife found this. Asks me isn't this what you are wanting to get at some point, told her yes but I wasn't looking for one right now. Then saw that the price wasn't too bad, $500.00, and I had the sling and the bayonet already. Just like the ones I carried in the USAF before I retired in 2008.

So she says get it, join the plastic world, LOL!

Our son (Former Marine) and his wife showed up 10 minutes later, we got out of the house and on the road before they woke up.....He picked up a M4 styled rifle from the same vender. Vender saw the last name, made mention he just sold one to someone with the same name, then saw the address, and stated ah related I see, they're staying with us until they find a place.

Cool find. I may have scooped that up if I were there.

That's the best version of the M16, except for that stupid 3-rd burst. Well, yours is semi, so problem solved! The A2's I borrowed from a Armorer school classmate for the post match were way more accurate than the A1's we were issued. 8-)

I like the classic simple look and function of an A2 as that is also what i was issued .

The prices are dropping but we need to remember at some point there will be a Dem in office and talk of anti 2A legislation will drive the prices back up. Now is the time to buy if you want a good deal.

Hoping to make a range run this week, got some milsurps that need to breath fire. So I might take this one out and put it through the paces and see how it does.

I work in Mexico and most of the Federalis carry these. They'll have a serial # spray painted on the buttstock, too. Some in the airports will have an AR in .22lr.

Nice. I built one of those a few years ago. DPMS parts mostly with an FN M16 barrel and handguard. I had it Cerokoted so all of the metal parts would match on color. A vintage Swedish sling for shits and giggles.

Sweet looking, I was leaning towards doing a build, but finding one already done and at a good price was too hard to pass up by my lazy ass!

My A2 is a White Oaks Armament CMP setup. A stainless floated match barrel, pinned rear sight, wylde chamber and a Geissele Hi-Speed National Match Trigger. If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing.

Still have a few of the silent slings upstairs, still sealed in their plastic bags.

That is very nice.
Your concept of doing something is similar to the one we had at work, There's no reaction like an over reaction.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!
