My new "project". Enfield No2Mk1

Post by jaytex1969 »

I'm not a revolver guy, but I couldn't pass up this local offering.

It's a '34 model with original wood grips, unaltered hammer and front sight.

It has a malfunction. The hammer will not cock with the action closed and the cylinder properly aligned.

If the action is broken open, it will cock. If the cylinder is "between holes" while the action is closed, it will also cock.

I've been unable to find a disassembly instruction online beyond removing the cylinder.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Jay

That's a nice revolver

I used this book

It has Enfield revolver. In my opinion it's OK book. Does guide thru disassembly, but not every little step is described. My local library has it, so I just borrow if I need it. I don't disassemble my Enfield No2 Mk1** that often.

If you get to Smith and Wesson top break revolvers disassembly, than I recommend this:
https://books.google.com/books?id=SY7K7 ... ly&f=false

I could view pages online, so I did not buy it, but was very helpful and it's on my list to get one.

Go to Utube and look up disassembly for Webleys. Also, type in your problems there. Sounds to me like you may have a trigger stop problem(eveyone calls this something different)?
Nice catch, by the way!
