Geha 12ga shotgun

This is one I found a few weeks ago in a LGS for a little bit of nothing.. Built on a highly modified Gewher 98 action from existing military rifles. From what I have found it's German made from the '20's or '30's. I also understand it is only rated for 2 9/16 inch shells, NO 2 3/4 inchers. Someone got brave and fired it with the bolt head missing, I dug a shotgun primer out of the bolt. I found a replacement bolt head and had the bolt checked for cracks, it was given a clean bill of health, but, I'm still not sure on whether or not I would fire it. It may just remain as a completely safe to fire....historical wall hanger. The guy at the LGS has some 2 1/2 inch shells, he says are totally safe for these older shotguns, I left the box there. I have also seen the names Remo and Hard Hit Heart associated with it, some were the more fancy models and were available in 16 and 20 gauges.

That looks.....safe? I don't think I would fire that with anything but the lowest low brass load. Get some all brass shells and cut them down to the size needed, pack them by hand.

Thanks..

I've been debating on the firing of it.. but, very leery on it. Maybe one day, I might, no rush at the moment. :?

The 2 1/2 inch shells they claim are minimum loads.
