Another S.O.G. M39, now with pictures

Post by Siam »

First off, I know if no pictures, it's not true. I have been so sick with a cold for the last week I didn't have the energy to clean it up and take pictures. But UPS came today anyway. Will describe it tonight and post pictures tomorrow.
1942 VKT, 1905 Izhevsk receiver. Bolt is all Tula, every piece has the Tula hammer on it. Wartime pistol grip stock. Crossed cannons with L stock makers mark.
#'s on receiver, barrel, and bolt match, no #'s on butt plate and non matching floor plate.
Very small TGI import mark on bottom of barrel behind front sight.
Blueing is 100%, stock is excellent, and bore looks very good.
I am extremely happy with this purchase. Chose the hand pick option.
Pictures tomorrow.

T-53 incoming!

I know the feeling, just finishing up a fun two week cold that is still a small bit with me. Rest up, when you are better we will still be here to see the pics . That is unless that Mayan thing everybody is going on about happens, then we may be obliterated, but why worry about that, get better :)

Same boat here. I missed more work last week than I have missed in the last 20 years. I can relate to how you were feeling.

Congrats on the new rifle though...that will make you feel better :)

I am getting over the flu and a lousy cough and I got whooped in an auction today. I may console myself and get one. SOG is only about 25 miles from me.

I hear ya Siam, I am the only "healthy" person in my house since Saturday. I did that ammo pouch thing while they all were napping today. Congrats on the M39 and anxiously await photos and a range report.

Yes, the VKT. $229.95 + handpick option available. But I think you need a FFL in order to buy firearms from them.

Thanks,

I think I can persuade my LGS to order one for me. I am also new to Mosin collecting and the bug has bitten, its the above considered a fair deal?

It is a great deal. You can't go wrong with a m39 for $230 in my opinion anyways. :D

By the time you pay the hand pick fee, shipping and the 3% CC fee it comes to $271. Still a great deal! At least there is no sales tax, about 9% here.

Their current flier lists all the M39 variants, but seems they only have the VKT in stock according to their web site. They did list the B barrel as available a few weeks ago.

I did buy a B barrel when i bought the 2. That and a regular VKT. You might call them and ask if they have a B lying around. :D
