Does anyone here have, or know of a source for, wood furniture for a Century Arms Centurion C39 Sporter milled AKM variant? Mine has the crappy plastic furniture with that horrible quasi picatinny railed forend. I thought I had a set that would fit but not without major rework.

Is this something like what you're looking for Bruce? It's a bit pricey. I seem to remember seeing a set like this a while ago, specifically for milled receivers. I remember putting it on gun-deals but can't find it to save my life. http://ironwooddesigns.com/IWDNEW3B12_2.html

Ok I found the one I was looking for but it's out of stock. http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/AK47- ... 7p1576.htm They do seem to have some stocks by themselves along with other parts. Don't know if this helps. I'll keep looking. http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/AK47- ... iewAll=yes

OMG I called you Bruce, Todd, lol. I saw some posts from both of you and the names are both orange. When I started to answer I thought it was still one of Bruce's posts, lol. Sorry buddy.

Memory is among the first things to go, I can't remember names for shit anymore, have to write everything down. Most days it's lucky I remember my own name.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Iron Woods does some really good work. I've got a set from them for my SGL-26 and have been really happy with it. I'm not very good at finishing wood so I had combloc customs do it and couldn't have been happier. Wasn't the cheapest route I could have gone but I'm very happy with the end result.

I called Apex today and ordered a brown laminate stock. It doesn't come with a buttplate, and the one I have isn't quite the right shape. I asked them to check a mil-surp plate on a hunch. Right shape, just a little too small to fit the rebated section. Bingo! So sometime next week I'll have a little sanding to do, then a bit of stain and the new stock will match the old Bulgarian front wood, and my AK will be finished.

Even though we painted the furniture it still bothers me that under the flat black paint job the damn thing is pink.

No, the original poly furniture is pink. Plus, the forward handguard and gas tube have pic rails on them. An AK doesn't look right with all that cheese grater crap on it. I like the look of a classic rifle with wood furniture.

Ok I get it now. Yeah nothing beats the classic AK look in my opinion.

Kudos to Apex Gun Parts! They shipped my order priority mail and it came in today. I don't know why they call these stocks blemished, the only mark I could find was a pin head sized handling scuff. The finish is beautiful, too bad it's getting sanded off. If I could find front handguards the same color I'd leave it as is. The surplus trap door butt plate is a perfect fit. There is a small wooden bur that needs to be sanded off the stock and the plate will slip right on. The rifle has no bayonet lug so there's no way to secure a cleaning rod, so I'm not going to bother drilling the stock out for a cleaning kit. I'll just install the trap door to cover the hole in the butt plate and call it good. Thanks to everyone who helped out in the search. Turns out it wasn't a shot in the dark after all. ;mywink;
