Searching on GB
Does anyone know if there is a way to EXCLUDE a particular seller from search results on GB?

Re: Searching on GB
Good question.....
Go to advanced search and under (words to exclude), put their name in there. Maybe??

That might work.

Yeah, I tried that...no luck. It must use the keywords from the description.
Would sure like to filter out a certain seller with many listings for ridiculously overpriced Mosins...

Re: Searching on GB
Try this
In the "narrow your search box" (the yellow banner box)
type in the search window:
Mosin Nagant -(insert name)
then check the Include Description
Then click on the search button
Just worked for me.

Re: Searching on GB
Once I see those multiple sellers & recognize them it's easy to browse right past them to get to the good stuff.

Re: Searching on GB
GB's string searching is annoyingly primitive. I suspect that is intentional, as the goal is to subject the shopper to as many "products" as possible.
I also feel your pain, PH. Every day. One seller in particular garbages up my searches with his ludicrously over-priced ex-Dragoons. One would think that the fool would finally have realized they won't sell at that price.
As Rongo said, annoying as it is I can generally skip past him, because his thumbnails are very distinctive.

Re: Searching on GB
Gunbroker is a business for profit. They expect to get their money from sellers. If they were to have a way to exclude sellers, sellers would go elsewhere and Gunbroker would die. Don't get me wrong, there are a few sellers I would love to smack with my little hammer.

Re: Searching on GB
I just get used to skimming through over 200 of the same guns that were on sale 24 hours before. Usually the new good stuff has a 5-7 day auctions. Most of this sellers guns are 24 hour auctions.
Re: Searching on GB
I asked them about this a while back and there is no way to do it. You can set up email searches for guns you are interested in and can exclude relists of the gun. But, I have found no way to exclude a specific seller. If someone finds a way, I'd be interesting in knowing...

Re: Searching on GB
It would sure be nice to have the feature but I know what you mean about just scrolling past the overpriced Ex Dragoons. It's just quite annoying to those who know better. LOL
